View The VillagesThe Villages community is designed to reinforce the outdoor enthusiast lifestyle available in Black Diamond. The community plan, as well as the architecture, supports and encourages interaction with the outdoors. Neighborhoods are woven into the site between areas of open space to create clustered enclaves or districts. The architecture of The Villages draws from historic and mining town images. These references draw from simple, form-based architecture with minimal added detail. A modern interpretation of this historic vocabulary, along with inclusion of a number of appropriate Northwest architectural styles, creates a strong character rooted in history, yet adding a contemporary twist. The Villages rests on 1,196 acres primarily located south and west of Historic Black Diamond and Morganville. It includes 4,800 residential units in both single and multi-family dwellings as well as approximately 775,000 square feet of space for employment uses including commercial, retail, restaurants, office, light industrial and civic uses. Multiple school sites are strategically located on the property, as are 481 acres of land designated for open space, a wide variety of recreational uses and a network of trails that will connect to existing and planned trails throughout the community.
