Several landmark actions took place at this meeting of the Black Diamond City Council. With unanimous votes, the Council adopted an overhauled Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Code, and Land Use Map. Also included was an updated set of rules governing Comprehensive Plan administration. The Comprehensive Plan had not been significantly updated since 1996. Anticipating these actions, at the beginning of the meeting the Council unanimously voted to repeal the moratorium on Master Planned Developments (MPD) and subdivisions, which has been in place for over 15 years. The effective date for all actions, including the action repealing the moratorium, will be around June 28th. See the City’s website for more details. Big congratulations to the City on completing this monumental effort, which is even more fitting while the City is in its fiftieth year of incorporation! http://www.ci.blackdiamond.wa.us/ Coal Waste Pile Relocation Project – May 26, 2009
