Healthy, vibrant communities need robust retail, restaurant, commercial and other employment opportunities that provide a tax base to sustain the services that are so vital to the community including schools, roads, and adequately staffed police and fire departments. The Villages and Lawson Hills will bring new businesses and create additional opportunities for current business owners within Black Diamond, in a thoughtful, planned way.

Because, the initial retail development planned for the Village Center of The Villages will begin before construction of new homes, new businesses can begin meeting community needs that are currently filled in other towns.

Complementing the retail uses, flexible office space will provide opportunities for new businesses to move to Black Diamond as well as serve as incubator space for budding local entrepreneurs. This mix of uses and the careful design of the Village Center makes for a vibrant, walkable commercial district in Black Diamond.
